Two cows were standing in a field, and one said to the other, "Those humans are sure getting worked up about mad cow disease. What do you think of it?"
To which the other replied, "Don't ask me. I'm a chicken."
Jokes serve many functions. Thomas Hobbes thought that humor allows you to express superiority over others; Freud believed that jokes, like dreams, relieve internal conflict; and others have said that humor acts as a safety value to release pent-up frustration over the effects of social injustice. Whatever the ultimate function of humor, jokes and comedy allow you to see the world differently.
